Welcome to My Year in Space Education

Back in 2010, I applied and received a grant to attend Space Camp for Teachers in Huntsville, Alabama.  Free chance to learn something new for my classroom AND have fun?  Count me in!  Little did I know this would end up shaping so many more years to come as an educator.  I was instantly surrounded by some of the most positive, motivated teachers in my life.  I felt reinvigorated as an educator and started looking for more ways to improve my teaching.  I would go on to apply and receive more grants to participate in such things as the Mickelson Exxon Mobile Teacher's Academy, the Student Spaceflight Experiment Program, and the Space Educator's Expedition Crew.  Space wasn't always a passion but became one with all the opportunities afforded to me as an educator.  My most recent grant was through WIPRO and USF, helping me to improve myself as an educator and a leader in science education.  My mission through this grant: to share the plethora of knowledge and resources already available to educators.  It's time to stop using outdated curriculum or trying to create everything on your own and time to start collaborating and taking advantage of FREE resources!
