“ There is a need nationwide to prepare students for 21st century STEM careers and an equal need for extraordinary teacher leaders to inspire these students.”
As mentioned in my bio, I am a part of the Space Educator Expedition Crew. We are a cohort of teacher-leaders from around the country, empowered through Space Center Houston to help build innovative STEM programs in our communities through the use of space education. February 2020 will be my 4th year attending the conference as well as my 4th year as a Crew member. This experience has been life changing! I find myself reinvigorated as an educator as I surround myself with some of the most motivating and inspiring educators in our country. The crew helps me question how to be a better teacher and leader in my field while providing me opportunities to learn about new resources, technologies, and pedagogies. I am excited to announce I will be presenting 3 different trainings at the conference, 2 of which are in collaboration with a NASA specialist involving the science behind the space suit.
What is SEEC? The Space Exploration Educators Conference (SEEC) is a three day immersion on how space education can enhance your classroom. Learn from NASA experts, astronauts, and leading educators as they present hands-on professional development. The SEEC conference helps connect formal and informal educators with the latest teaching tools to inspire the next generation of explorers. Teachers will receive various cross-curriculum ideas, ready-to-implement classroom activities, and valuable networking opportunities with their colleagues.
